PeerBlogs had a major site upgrade to add a number of features and prepare the site for future enhancements.
Some highlights:
- One click internal forum integration allowing you to set up group forums in less than a minute.
- A global forum directory allowing you to easily browse public facing forum posts regardless of the group they are attached to.
- Activity streams everywhere. Activity streams can be filtered allowing for feature specific activity streams or adding an activity stream to your custom plugin.
The new forum integration is of particular importance as it gets rid of the confusion when to use what forum. In summary:
- If you run a group, the group forum is good for discussions related to that group.
- If you want to have a blog/site-specific forum which also gives you complete control such as category creation, then use the Simple:Press Forum plugin inside your dashboard.
PeerBlogs uses a large number of plugins of which none has reported complete incompatibility with the latest site upgrade. However, some are known to output a simple error line at the top of the page. Those still work fine and do not affect that page’s functioning. We are aware of the issue and work on it.
