PeerBlogs

PeerBlogs had a major site-wide upgrade to add new features, fix existing issues and generally clean up the service. This applies to all users.

Overall

• New custom menu management feature, allows creation of custom menus combining posts, pages, categories, tags, and links for use in theme menus or widgets.
• Contextual help text accessed under the Help tab of every screen on the dashboard.
• A lighter admin color scheme to increase accessibility and put the focus more squarely on your content.

Themes

• Many themes had to be removed for compatibility issues. No blogs were affected.
• New default theme “Twenty Ten”.

Plugins

Many unused plugins were removed. Drop us a line if you are looking for a specific feature.

Activity

• The Activity stream shows all the latest user actions across the PeerBlogs network, covering both subdomain blogs and those with an individual domain.
• Logged-in users can update their personal and group status from various pages such as the Activity and User page.
• Activities can now be rated.

Themes

• The main site received an improved design which makes accessing content and related features easier.
• All user blog themes have been retested and over 20 slightly incompatible (minor issues) themes have been removed.
• The top toolbar now follows the browser across the page when scrolling up and down.
• All themes have been upgraded. We recommend you check your theme settings for any changes.

Plugins

Over the past few months we applied literally hundreds of patches and even had to remove some plugins to ensure a smooth operation of the site. We tried hard to make this an “invisible action” so no blog would be affected.
